How do I close a deposit account?

You can close a checking (spending), savings or money market account in Online Banking or the mobile app and direct us on what to do with the remaining account balance: Either transfer the balance to another Stanford FCU account where you’re the primary or joint owner, or have a Cashier’s Check mailed to you. You may close a Certificate on the maturity date or during the 7-day grace period that follows it.

 

  1. Log into Online Banking or the mobile app (App StoreGoogle Play)
  2. Locate the account you want to close on the home page and click the three dots to the right
  3. Select Account Closure and follow the instructions

 

Alternatively, you may close your account by calling 888.723.7328, sending a secure Message in Online Banking or through the mobile app, or visiting a local Stanford FCU branch.
