Joan has been the President/CEO at Stanford FCU since May 2010. Joan has over 30 years of executive level management and financial institution experience. Prior to joining Stanford FCU, Joan served as EVP/CFO at Texas Trust Credit Union overseeing accounting, information technology, marketing and business services, as well as three Credit Union Service Organizations. Before joining the executive team at Texas Trust Credit Union, Joan was a partner with the CPA Firm of Clifton Gunderson, LLP. Joan is a CPA and was awarded the State of Arizona Gold Medal Award (1st place) and the National Elijah Watts Sells Award (top 1% nationally) for the November 1993 CPA exam. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Maryland with a Business Administration degree and a minor in Accounting. Joan received the Certified Chief Executive designation in 2009. In 2015, she was recognized as a Women of Influence by the Silicon Valley Business Journal. Joan is a Director of the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco and their Audit Committee Chair, is past Board Chair of CO-OP and now advisory board member to Velera following the merger of CO-OP and PSCU, and also serves as the Chair of the Western CUNA Management School Board of Trustees.

After receiving his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from San Jose State University, Brian Thornton started his career in mortgage banking in 1986. Mr. Thornton joined Stanford FCU in 1998, and quickly developed a passion for the credit union movement. He is now a senior level executive at Stanford FCU responsible for commercial, residential and consumer lending. His responsibilities also include secondary marketing, loan servicing, collections, loss mitigation, and special assets management across all lending disciplines. He is a member of executive level committees, including Asset Liability Management and Stanford FCU Loan Committees. Brian’s 30 years of combined experience in financial services helps make him a terrific asset for Stanford FCU and an excellent resource for both our consumer and commercial members.

Brian Zeitler has 20 years of progressive experience driving alignment of business and technology strategies to empower successful outcomes. As Stanford FCU’s Chief Information Officer, Brian is responsible for the credit union’s technology, information security and facilities management. Brian was previously CIO at Mechanics Bank, where he led the organization through transformational process and technology modernization to prepare the Bank for rapid growth through acquisition. Brian also served as a Vice President at First Niagara Financial Group and M&T Bank. He has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Computer Science from the State University of New York at Fredonia. Brian also has a Master of Business Administration with concentrations in Finance, Competitive & Organizational Strategy, Computers & Information Systems from the University of Rochester (Simon Graduate School of Business). Brian is a graduate of the Pacific Coast Banking School (University of Washington), and a Project Management Professional (PMP).

Lecia has over 20 years of executive level experience managing all aspects of Human Resource management and career development, including Employee Relations, Recruitment, Benefits, Compensation and Staff Development. This overall experience has allowed her to promote an environment intended to keep employees engaged and growing within the organization. Lecia is a certified recruiter and public speaker. She has presented information on a variety of topics both locally and internationally related to the disciplines of staff development, Human Resources, as well as Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Lecia has created several programs designed to develop the organization’s next level of leaders. A recent program received the Excellence Award by the CUNA HR & Organizational Development Council. Other personal accomplishments include a master’s degree in Human Resource Management. Lecia also participates on a variety of committees and organizations, such as; Global Women’s Leadership Network (GWLN), AACUC Mentorship program, HRD Network (Former President/Treasurer), San Mateo County Workforce Investment Board (Former Chairman). Lecia remains energized by the ever-changing challenges the work environment continues to bring.

Paul Jockisch has more than 13 years of experience in accounting and leadership. After graduating from Santa Clara University with his Bachelor’s degree in Commerce and Accounting, Paul began his career at Moss Adams where he worked with over 200 clients in a variety of industries for six years. Following his passion for the not-for-profit arena, Paul joined the Stanford FCU team as Assistant Controller in 2012. Three years later he was promoted to VP of Accounting/Controller, and in 2018 he was asked to serve as Senior VP/Interim CFO where he focused on efficiency and team effectiveness. In early 2020, Paul officially became SVP/Chief Financial Officer. Paul is extremely passionate about building a better financial model for Stanford FCU members. He was also selected for the i3 program at Filene Research Institute (Ideas, Innovation, Implementation), a two-year development journey addressing some of the biggest issues facing the credit union industry.

Dr. Shirley J. Everett serves as Senior Associate Vice Provost for Stanford University’s Residential & Dining Enterprises (R&DE), leading a diverse and talented team in creating a culture of excellence and fostering innovative, student-centered environments. R&DE is Stanford’s largest auxiliary, stewarding a $3B asset portfolio representing over one-third of the University’s physical plant. She is a member of the University’s Full Cabinet, Special Advisor to the Provost, and founder of the Stanford Food Institute. Dr. Everett was elected to the Stanford FCU Board in 2016 and appointed Chair in 2022. She holds a doctorate in Educational Leadership and an MBA from Saint Mary’s College of California.

Greg Rosston is Director of the Public Policy program at Stanford University, a Senior Fellow of the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy research, and Professor of Economics (by courtesy). Mr. Rosston received his Ph.D. in Economics from Stanford University and his A.B. with Honors in Economics from University of California at Berkeley. Mr. Rosston joined Stanford FCU’s Board of Directors as an Advisory Board member in 2012 and became a Board Director in 2015. Mr. Rosston served as Board Chair from 2016 to 2022.

Tana Hutchison retired from Stanford in April 2019. She served the University in many capacities since 1992, most recently assisting Stanford’s Financial Management Services team in the implementation of key business initiatives to improve both customer service and controls. From January 2017 through September 2018 she was the Program Manager for the ADAPT project to migrate the systems and processes of Stanford’s Office of Development and the Stanford Alumni Association to new platforms to better serve, steward, and engage the University’s donors and alumni. She was the Deputy CFO for SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory from June 2009 through December 2016. Prior to that, Ms. Hutchison had been an Associate Controller at Stanford since 1996. Ms. Hutchison led financial system implementations at both SLAC and Stanford. She joined Stanford in 1992 in Internal Audit where she served as Associate Director for Medical Affairs, covering the School of Medicine and Stanford Health Services. Previously, Ms. Hutchison worked as a CPA for KPMG Peat Marwick. Ms. Hutchison earned her Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Santa Clara University. She was appointed to the Credit Union’s Supervisory Committee in 1993 and joined the Board of Directors in 1997. Ms. Hutchison has been the Board Treasurer since 2000.

Dan Kolkowitz brings more than 25 years of experience developing security and network technologies for commercial systems. He has a long and successful entrepreneurial history, including the co-founding of companies MobileAria, Compact Devices, Securify, Inc., and Swan Labs, Inc. Most recently Mr. Kolkowitz has focused on innovation in fintech: He was a founding member of PlaySpan Inc. which was acquired by Visa for its electronic wallet technology and was co-founder of IdentityMind Global, an e-commerce company that provides risk management and regulatory compliance solutions for the financial and digital commerce ecosystem. Mr. Kolkowitz earned an M.S.C.S. from Stanford University, where he also managed several of the University’s key distributed computing projects and lectured in the computer sciences department. He has been active in networking and security industry groups and standards organizations for over 20 years. He continues to advise on technology and security issues for Venture Capitalists and public and private corporations.

Gus Araya is a Co-Founder and Partner of Cordillera Investment Partners. Prior to founding Cordillera, Gus was a Partner at Makena Capital Management where he was responsible for Makena’s Natural Resources investments and was a member of the firm’s Investment Committee. Previously, he was also a member of Makena’s Private Equity team. Gus has additional experience at other investment firms, as a Product Manager at Intuit, and as an Analyst. He holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from UCLA and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Gus is a CFA charter holder.

Curtis Feeny has spent 20 years investing in enterprise software startups as a General Partner in funds at Voyager Capital and Silicon Valley Data Capital. Prior to that, he spent 8 years as Executive Vice President of Stanford Management Company helping oversee Stanford University’s Endowment as it grew from $1.5 billion to $10 billion. Curtis has been on the board of Stanford FCU since 2004. He was previously on the boards of CBRE (NYSE) and STAPLES (NYSE) and is currently on the boards of Khan Academy, Holland Partners and several other for profit and non-profit companies. Curtis has a Bachelor’s degree and Master of Engineering from Texas A&M, and a Harvard MBA.

Jonathan Dreyfus is currently a Director of Product Management (PM) at Google, where he leads a PM team focused on growth, accelerators, and quality in Google Search Real World Journeys. Prior to this, Mr. Dreyfus led Product Management for Growth in Google Search and, before this led PM for Google Shopping Express. Before Google, Mr. Dreyfus was a Senior Director of Product Management at Symantec, led a PM team at Cisco, and was a strategy consultant at Bain. Mr. Dreyfus studied Economics and minored in Computer Science at Stanford University, and earned an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern.

Mr. Reidy is Vice President of Land, Buildings & Real Estate at Stanford University, responsible for all issues relating to Stanford lands. As Vice President, Mr. Reidy is responsible for planning and implementing Stanford’s $4.1 billion capital plan; the university’s commercial real estate portfolio on endowed lands valued at $5.1 billion; managing campus utilities, grounds, and parking & transportation; providing stewardship for the 8,180 acres of land; managing operations and maintenance for over 300 buildings totaling 10.7 million square feet. Additionally, Mr. Reidy oversees LBRE’s $331.8 million operating budget and 542 employees. He earned a B.S. in Mechanical & Environmental Engineering from California Polytechnic State University. Mr. Reidy serves on the Board of Overseers for the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, Board of Directors for Bay Area Council, the University of Nebraska Medical Center Development Corporation, a trustee of the Urban Land Institute, a Senior Fellow, American Leadership Forum – Silicon Valley. Mr. Reidy was elected to the Stanford FCU Board in 2016.

Kimathi Marangu is a Fellow at the Distinguished Careers Institute at Stanford University. He is the former global head of Prepaid at Visa and a former fintech entrepreneur who co-founded Cartera Commerce, which was later acquired by Rakuten. Prior to his entrepreneurial ventures, Kimathi was an investment banker at J.P. Morgan and Morgan Stanley. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Vassar College and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Kimathi is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. Kimathi’s personal mission is to improve the financial health, physical health, and mental health of a significant number of people. In addition to his service on the Stanford FCU advisory board and supervisory committee, Kimathi serves as chairman of the San Mateo County Employee Retirement Association pension board (SamCERA). He is also a member of the board of trustees of Vassar College. Kimathi is a board member of the Lucile Packard Foundation for Children’s Health. He also sits on the board of Compass Family Services supporting several thousand homeless families in San Francisco.

Jessica Kennedy is the Medicine Catalyst Program Manager for Stanford Medicine, where she is building a new Stanford program. The program bridges the School of Medicine and both Stanford hospitals to develop new ideas to transform healthcare. It seeks the most promising treatment and technology ideas, fosters their development, tests them and scales them to their full potential to create global impact. Prior to joining Stanford Medicine, Ms. Kennedy was a Project Manager for University Information Technology where she managed multiple projects to replace a large, 20 year old custom solution. She has held multiple project and program management positions in both private and public sectors. Ms. Kennedy was appointed to the Supervisory Committee in 2020.

Michael completed his degrees in computer science and physics at MIT. While there, he founded an electronic medical records company and later served as Chief Technology Officer of the acquiring organization. Michael then devoted a year to teaching undergraduate and graduate computer science courses as a Visiting Instructor at Miami University in Ohio before relocating to the Bay Area, where he led the information security program at SRI International in Menlo Park for the next 11 years. Michael joined Stanford in 2012 and ascended to the Chief Information Security Officer role in 2013.

Kelly Wright is the Executive Director of Financial Compliance & Operations at Stanford University where she leads the Financial Risk Management, Payroll, Tax, and General & Student Accounting functions. Ms. Wright joined Stanford University in 2002 and has held various positions within the Financial Management Services organization. She received an A.B. in Economics and Communication from Stanford University. Ms. Wright was appointed to the Supervisory Committee in 2024.

Frank Sarnquist is an Emeritus Professor of Anesthesiology at the Stanford University Medical Center. He joined the faculty in 1976 and has had research interests in pharmacology and high altitude physiology. He has served as Medical Director of the Stanford Operating Rooms and as interim Chair of the Department of Anesthesia. He received an AB degree in Zoology from UCLA and an MD degree from UCSF. Dr. Sarnquist joined Stanford FCU’s Board of Directors in 2004 and became Vice Chair in 2010.

Jane Duperrault is the Director of Finance & Administration for the Department of Anesthesia at the Stanford University School of Medicine. In addition, Ms. Duperrault is the Director of Physician Practice Development for the School of Medicine. She joined Stanford FCU’s Board in 1989. Ms. Duperrault served as Treasurer until May 2000, when she became Vice Chair. In 2010 Ms. Duperrault became Board Chair, and in 2016 Ms. Duperrault was appointed Board Secretary. Ms. Duperrault has a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the American University in Washington, D.C. and an MBA from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor.

In March 2007, Mr. Jobe retired from his position as Associate Director of Business Services at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, operated by Stanford University for the U.S. Dept. of Energy. Mr. Jobe joined SLAC in 1970. He was CFO at Analytec Limited from 1989 to 1993, and returned to SLAC in 1993. Mr. Jobe served as an Officer and pilot in the U.S. Navy, and retired as a Captain in the U.S. Naval Reserve. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from UCLA and an MBA from Santa Clara University. Mr. Jobe joined Stanford FCU’s Board in 1995 and served as Board Secretary. Mr. Jobe was appointed an Emeritus Board Member in 2016.

Michael Hindery had a fulfilling 36-year career in executive leadership roles at university and academic medical centers including the University of Pennsylvania, Stanford University, the University of California San Francisco, and Santa Clara University. He has a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Santa Clara University, a Master’s in Urban Planning from the University of Washington, and a Master’s of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania. He served on the Stanford FCU Board of Directors from 2000 to 2014.

Tim Warner is Vice Provost for Budget and Auxiliaries Management at Stanford University. He has been a member of the Credit Union Board since 1989 and served as its Chairman from 1992-2009. Mr. Warner earned a Bachelor’s degree from Wesleyan University and an MBA from Stanford University.
