Upgrade Advantages

Credit Card Payment

Before:
Members who pay their credit card in existing Stanford FCU Online Banking must wait 3 business days to have the payment applied and view their new available credit card balance.
Now:
Members who pay their credit card in new Stanford FCU Online Banking will see the payment instantly applied to their available credit card balance. However, their checking history will not reflect immediately.
Credit Card Account Management

Before:
Members are redirected to a new window to view transactions and rewards.
Now:
In online banking/account details/credit card, Members can view transactions and rewards; Members can activate their card in online banking.
Auto Enrollment to Online Banking

Before:
To enroll in online banking, the member must be assisted by a Stanford FCU staff member.
Now:
Most members will be able to enroll in online banking themselves without waiting for member service. Members with no Social Security numbers will still need to call 888.723.7328 to enroll.
Mobile Banking

Before:
Currently the Stanford FCU mobile banking is a different experience than online banking.
Now:
The mobile banking experience will mirror the online banking experience. With the new mobile banking app you can:

  • Sign in with your saved fingerprint or Touch IDTM— no need for a passcode. (Apple only)
  • Transfer money to other members
  • Make recurring transfers
  • Initiate domestic wires
  • View statements
  • Submit travel notifications
Secure Access Code

Before:
Members answer challenge questions for login verification.
Now:
Members will be sent secured access code (one time use) to device of their choice. The Secure Access Code will expire after a short amount of time. Transaction request access codes can also be added for wire transfers, external transfers, change of address.
DocuSign Integration

Before:
All forms/documents that require a signature are manually printed, signed and faxed to Stanford FCU or a separate email is sent to member using DocuSign system.
Now:
Member can use a secure eSignature through DocuSign within Online banking that is optimized for mobile devices. No faxing or separate emails will be required.
Wire Transfer

Before:
For domestic wires, members complete an online form, print, sign it. Then send it along with a valid government issued ID to Stanford FCU via secured fax or email. For international wires, members contact Stanford FCU to intiate the wire. They will then receive an email that will require them to provide an eSignature using DocuSign and attach a valid government issued ID.
Now:
Members who use the wire service will complete a Wire Transfer Agreement and send it to Stanford FCU. After the agreement is on file, members can send domestic and international wire transfer electronically through Stanford FCU Online Banking. If there is a change to the Wire Transfer Agreement, such as personal contact information or the member’s personal secure code, the member will need to contact Stanford FCU to renew the Agreement.
Real time address changes

Before:
Members request a change in address but it is not updated in the core system.
Now:
Members can see current address. Secure access codes are used for members to update their addresses. Addresses will be validated using USPS address format.
Person to Person Payment

Before:
Member can pay anyone with an email address and mobile number. For instant payments, the receiving person must be registered with Pay a Friend and must enable instant payments. Dollar limits apply.
Now:
Members who have a Stanford FCU debit card on file can pay anyone through our Pay a Friend tool. Members will have access to contact list from their mobile device. Limits are based upon their debit card limits. End user does not have to be enrolled to receive the money.
Loan Payments

Before:
Members cannot pay off consumer loans online, and need to contact Stanford FCU to process. Loan payment options available through Stanford FCU Online Banking are regular payment, principal only payment, and pay down to HELOC and Line of Credit.
Now:
Members can pay off and close their consumer loans, excluding mortgage loans, in Stanford FCU Online Banking.
Secure Messages

Before:
Members use the Secured Message Center to communicate securely with staff without use of attachments.
Now:
Members use the Secured Message Center to communicate securely with staff with use of attachments. Messages on the same subject are organized as conversations. Limitations on file size may apply.
Online Forms

Before:
For activities that use Online Forms (Stop Payment, Travel Notification, etc), members often need to print out online forms, sign and email the form back to Stanford FCU. Members submits the form and Stanford FCU processes it manually. Status and tracking of the status are not available online.
Now:
Online Forms become dynamic and pre-populated, and signatures are collected through DocuSign. Additional forms will be available for easy changes or added functionality. All can be submitted online through Stanford FCU Online Banking. Additional forms will continually be added for member convenience.
FICO Score Widget

Before:
Member credit scores are not available through Stanford FCU Online Banking.
Now:
Members will be able to opt in to view their credit score through a widget in Stanford FCU Online Banking.
Custom Backgrounds

Before:
One background is available for all users in Stanford FCU Online Banking.
Now:
Members will have up to 5 wallpaper backgrounds to choose whenever they want.
