John R. Davis

John R. Davis, President and CEO

Mr. John Davis has been with SFCU since 1996. Mr. Davis began his service with SFCU as its Chief Financial Officer and became President/CEO in early 2000. Mr. Davis brings to SFCU disciplines from engineering, finance, general management, and has served as CEO of another credit union. Mr. Davis is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and the Graduate School of Business at Stanford. Having raised his five children in Palo Alto, he and his wife continue to enjoy being a part of the Palo Alto and Stanford Communities.

Mark L. Lovewell

Mark L. Lovewell, VP/CFO

Mark Lovewell, CFO, is responsible for the Credit Union's Finance/Accounting Department operations, including maintaining investments, corporate accounting, and many electronic services. Mr. Lovewell has performed asset/liability management and modeling, financial planning and budgeting, capital planning, M&A analysis, investor relations and management of account staff operations since 1989. Mr. Lovewell is currently completing an MBA degree at the Edinburgh Business School, Heriot-Watt University and holds a BS in finance from Columbus University.

Michael T. Hiller

Michael T. Hiller, VP Administration & Human Resources

Michael Hiller is responsible for all of the personnel, training and development and branch operations for the Credit Union. Mr. Hiller has been working in the credit union industry since 1982. Mr. Hiller holds a bachelor's degree in Classical Languages from Concordia Senior College in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and a master's degree in divinity from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri.

Margaret Wold

Margaret Wold, VP Business Development & Marketing

Margaret Wold is responsible for developing business opportunities in the Stanford Community. Additionally, Ms. Wold oversees SFCU's marketing and public relations program. She joined SFCU in 1987. Ms. Wold holds a master's degree from San Jose State University.

Sam Tuohey

Sam Tuohey, VP eCommerce & Technology/CTO

Sam Tuohey is responsible for the planning and implementation of technology and eCommerce initiatives at Stanford Federal Credit Union. Mr. Tuohey has been a senior manager in the Credit Union industry since 1984. He holds a bachelor's degree from San Jose State University and an MBA from the University of Phoenix.

Brian Thornton

Brian Thornton, VP Real Estate & Business Lending

Brian Thornton is responsible for Real Estate and Business lending at SFCU. Mr. Thornton has been in the Real Estate industry since 1986 in a diversity of roles including loan origination, loan servicing, secondary marketing, business development and information services. Mr. Thornton joined the Credit Union in 1998. He holds a bachelor's degree from San Jose State University.

Lee Wood, VP Compliance

Mr. Wood serves as the VP Compliance for Stanford Federal Credit Union. He has served on the Credit Union’s Supervisory Committee and recently served the Administrative Manager for the Global Climate and Energy Project, at Stanford University engaged in fundamental, pre-commercial research that would foster the development of a global energy system with significantly lower greenhouse emissions. He joined Stanford in 1988 as a manager in the School of Medicine. Previously, Mr. Wood served 22 years as a U.S. Army Medical Service Corps Officer, including ten years as an aviator and eight years in overseas assignments. He earned his bachelor's degree in business from the University of Massachusetts and his master's degree in business from Boston University.
